The rain pounded loud like a drum on the sidewalk.
Cars passed paying no mind to me,
The girl drenched standing all alone in the rain
You had slammed a knife through my chest with just one word

This world isn’t yours for the taking
Was what you said to me
But the only world I wanted was yours and mine
I only wanted to love you
You helped me be whole
You cauterized the wound
I wanted to call back
Please don’t go
Stay… with me
How can you say that you want to watch me bleed?
How can you leave me with these scars now and forever?
If only these words had meaning to you
Then maybe you would remember
Maybe you would remember the feeling
We had both held onto for so long
If only you knew that I find it so hard to breathe without you
That every second without you I’m choking just to force air into my lungs
I don’t want to live a life with these memories of you that are all so perfect, but only bring me pain
If only you knew that I didn’t want to leave you
If only you knew that all I wanted to do…
