Deep within our split minds
the memory of being wholly One,
the Voice of loving Spirit
calling all of God’s holy sons
One shared Life in all of us
One shared Life full of love
A short dream of time and space
part of the One fell fast asleep
sleeping actors we then became
Spirit’s loving memory buried deep
Dreaming actors swapping roles
Sleeping parts of the Whole
Each fellow actor, another part of us
unaware of our holy relationships
equal souls in actor consciousness
playing chosen ego drama scripts
Another script lies deep within the mind
Spirit’s waking script for each to find
Time for God’s sons to return to One
time to return to Christ Consciousness
we must ask the Teacher to show the way
the part within, in Oneness Consciousness
We are One, Spirit is us
The lasting part, the part that loves

Contest prompt: What is the soul?
Soul, God's son, spirit, Higher Self - all terms describing an extension of God (Spirit) that adventures into this world. Sometimes I think of souls as being "God's eyes".
The soul is the eternal part of us. I believe in reincarnation. Every life is experienced by an aspect of the soul. The soul has other aspects from previous lives. They are subconscious personalities to us.

I am a Thespian of 22 years so, this concept piques my inner-most self. You set the stage, and make sure each player has role (script) in hand. I am left with the thought that God is the producer/director and I like how that feels.
A very unique concept for sure, but fit well within the confines of this challenge. I am impressed and bid you much success in the contest.

This composition is very intriguing and bountiful... "Sleeping Sons" strikes hierological thoughts as it develops its subjects dealt. I have learned while reading "Sleeping Sons", which is beautifully composed.

God's eyes, seems they occupy the same space
awareness of one is so important
it sound silly, 'I am you' (to others) to me it sounds silly to say we are not the same
Christ consciousness
from a caterpilar to a butterfly
awakening the right side of our brain
it is indeed the part that loves
loves essence, who we truly are
we only need to remember.

Yes, I could see how it might be a bit confusing to those who are not into what I am reading. I read some place that poems should only hint, that narratives explain. So, perhaps, something hits a chord in folks, anyway. Thanks.
