did you notice
how our goodbyes coincide

a bluster and burst,
the sun declines invitations,
never takes part- why is that?

i fly two states away
there it is, waiting for me

we should be aware of these things
i think-

overly analytical (you say it a lot)

rain masks people
emotions
bedraggled in dampness

i have dreams of you walking away,
airport gate and last glimpses
my name-

i wonder if that's the last time

imagine the rain washing me from your skin

if only it was as simple for me

    This was a poignant piece for me. I have a complex about airports and planes and departure gates - they hold such a sadness for me. Leaving friends, leaving family, leaving lovers, not getting to leave lovers. Sighhhh. Yes, why is it that the people we should forget are always the hardest?

    Really enjoyed this little poem, though I would have liked to see the actual message/notes!!

    other than that, i have no worthy criticisms to make on this piece.
