I Need You

I don’t want to be mistaken for a woman who doesn’t love you.
I may go my way but your memory stays right in my heart.
Everyday its seems that I don’t have what it takes to do it all.
A woman’s work is everything.
I must be everything to everyone.
A friend, a mother, a wife a confidant, a sister, an aunt, a worker, a daughter, a housekeeper,
I must be weak, I must be strong, I need to show sympathy, I need to show empathy,
I have to lead, I have to follow,
Even people I don’t even know needs a piece of me.
Who will feed the hungry, the homeless, and the motherless child?
After all of this I have little energy to be a lover.
I love you and this is the reason why I will give you your own section of my heart,
I will take you by the hand and hope you will take some of this weight off of my shoulders with your help, love and understanding.

Please tell me what you think

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
