The truth
of leaves and men
is not revealed in youth.
With time we see what they have been
indeed.

hmm a thoughtful poem to be sure, i almost expected the opposite ...that we see the shell in the end, so this gave me pause to reflect on the meaning i did not anticipate, always a nice thing in poetry...well done...PK

Chlorophyll masks a leaf's true color which becomes apparent only in the autumn of its life. Even so, vitality and potential of youth is beautiful, but it is only as a person matures that we begin to comprehend whether or not there is a more profound beauty in his or her character.

A wonderful cinquain with a very poignant, evocative theme. You have a great take on life here. Wisdom indeed! What a wonderful idea to compare our lives with leaves and how time and tide marks both. Thank you so much for sharing.

Very philosophic cinquain, and it is a great comparison of leaves and mankind. I enjoyed your thoughts within each line, thank you for your cinquain.
