Nothing worth knowing is acquired with ease.
Just as everything requires love
and love, my friend, ain't easy to appease.
To seize, to surrender, to sustain or survive.
and if you want a glimpse of love
you better look alive.
Because
She's fickle and He's finite
and something stands between.
It's a cloudy realization
but somehow sharp, astute, and keen.
It's the scripture we recite before we go to bed at night.
It's the picture of a sylvan scene; bucolic and serene.
So I refer to language
you may have heard before;
Read somewhere else perhaps;
A poem
or a tabloid in your grocer's store.
Where the headline reads: "man Loves woman and woman Loves man
so let's Love one another right now."
"Love whoever you want, whenever you can
whatever it takes and how!"
...Or maybe it was in a song; either way, you see, we can't go wrong
if we carry on or allow
the weight of love on bough or brow.
It's something worth knowing, and so is the fight.
Or am I a poet simply dreaming.?
Cause Love can start one's soul a-glowing
and we can set our hearts a-beaming
if we attain it's sacred light.

Meh.... I think I could do more with this but I feel like right now isn't the time. Please let me know what you think.

I really like this piece and see a lot of feeling in it. I believe we all think we can do more with our pieces but what comes out first is really the best of that piece and trying to change it might not give it the feeling it has now. A beautiful lament that speaks of so much love and the energy two people can share. Not sure how it relates to the picture, but all the same it is one very wonderful write and it will be bookmarked by me. The very best in the contest to you. Keep up the great penning.

Thank You, Condor. Your comment really means a lot. Not only did you find it a positive read ( in more ways than one) you pretty much said "Good the way it is; leave it alone." So now, that's what I'll do. As for relating to the picture, I think it was the fog in the picture that made me think the word "obscured" and I guess love was the association I made. Thanks again.

Without a doubt a most beautiful piece. Now I can see what relation it had to the picture. I should have picked that up first.
