Merrick and Mirren went blackberry pickin`
in places they grow wild,
you must remember Mirren
is just a three year old child.
With berries prolific the picking teriffic
they soon had a big bag full.
Big, fat and juicy the black ones
melted on your tongue.
red ones were nasty the brambles were scratchy
tore your legs and stung.
soon it was time to go
there were black clouds in the sky.
Merrick had grand visions
of blackberry and apple pie.
those thoughts soon for revision
her images sky high.
All the plans of mice and men
are very often shot
as dear little Mirren had
scoffed the bleedin` lot.
