Burdened by boulders, back, breaking
Crudely constructing concise collections
Derogatory dialect, different directions
Encouraging echoes, endless elation
Fearlessly fighting for fortification
Grammatically gripping, graciously grand
Helping his hardship, holding his hand
Imprinted in imagery is inspiration
Joyously jumping justification
Kicking, keen, knowingly kind
Leaving lasting love leaked lines
Motivating metaphors, mystifying might
Newly neon narrative, neutralizing night
Overwhelming optimism occupies our ocean
Precisely picking poetry, pondering promotion
Quantifying quality, questioning quartets
Redesigning rhythm, rhyming round regrets
Simply startling stanza’s, suggesting something shines
Tranquilizing tempo, ticking through the times
Universal understanding, unrelated
Vivid violent visions, validated
Wielding wordplay, woefully wrapped
Xenophobic yesterday zestfully zapped
Author notes
While chatting to a good friend on here we decided that rhyming poetry was very restrictive. I decided to restrict it even more by only allowing myself to use words that begin with the given letter of the alphabet. On each line every word starts with same letter (but it got hard towards the end!). This can be done quite easily if you use connecting words like "it", "and", "like", "the" etc so I wanted to avoid doing that restricting what I could write even more, and ensuring that EVERY word on the line starts with the same letter. I wanted to try and keep it flowing and rhyming and more or less making sense the whole way through. This really was a challenge to write!

Thanks for the mention in your author notes! I had no idea people could be so inspired by a single conversation with me
but hey that's awesome! Anyways your poetry was simply mind-blowing [ to say the least ] and it has completely altered my view of the poetic arts....I guess even that which is severely limiting can not only still be challenging but also quite fun as well. I'm not sure how you did it but congratulations are due because this is insanely wicked and masterfully done! Now go have a beer and celebrate!
