Let the Wind Blow

I stand alone and the wind blows through

I stand alone because of you

Storms come and go, my limbs they rip

Never once losing their grip

You chose to go leaving me sorrow

A major storm, another tomorrow

Gripped in the teeth of life's hellish twister

Bark is battered, soul is blistered

Already guilt riden, I didn't need

For you to drop me to my knees

But I'm learning to find what I have inside

Since you and others have broken my pride

Let the wind blow and may the rain fall

Lightnening may strike, my name it may call

I'll dig my roots and hold on tight

I shall put up a hell of a fight

Let the flood drown my soul

Just make sure my story is told

Through the storms, without your hand

Strong roots I have and I still stand

You can't break me

Powerful. You did a fantastic job with the pic chosen, and an amazing job on the poem. I loved it. Great rhyme, too.
Thanks for entering the contest & best of luck.
