The Lord said Let There be Light; so The Devil bought Darkness

Missing image
As I pray to God My Soul to keep;
in this dark room, I sit and weep,
He has never answered my prayers;
my whole life He's never been there.

The reality of loneliness grips my soul;
the sun is never out i'm always cold;
in this room full of fear,
Everyone knows the devil lives here;

{Hells Gate Hotel}

so We live here; with the Devil who owns us,
Wondering why God never listened,
The Lord once said Let There be Light;
in return, The Devil bought darkness.

Author notes

Yeah
He's never helped me
I don't believe.

    if you've never been his hands or feet
    than obvious it would be why it would be
    so hard to believe....

    I respect you...and have discovered..
    we ...all..have our own season and time
    to pick and choose our spirituality.

    much respect,
    ears/Kathleen/Seattle

    same here
    in other words, there is NO higher power, it's too contradicting and believing in something leaves room to be let down when the dream is inevitably crushed.

    nice write

    this was powerful! the emotion and bitterness i could feel burning inside the words. so many times i have found myself pondering over religions and gods. for now i am atheist/agnostic. so many times i have felt this way. such great lines in this one... i like the (hells gate hotel) part, i found it somewhat funny in a non funny way well penned.

    whoa, dude, this is like sitting and reading my own personal journal, i have never believed in "God", nor will I ever.
    The myth has never helped me.
    Has never been there when I've needed that guiding light.
    i thought the message in this was so powerful.
    well done, thank you for sharing and best of luck

    So if man created god, than does that make man a devil incarante by nature?
    I feel your discontent of divine oversight, not unlike the bitterness of a neglectfuil parents child.
