Muse d'amour

I could traverse this planet for an eternity or two.
Walk from frigid ice or sweltering sands.
But it wouldn't be enough.

I thought that long ago, as we lay under the moon...

Your skin glistened under the light,
lips tender from my kiss,
dozing in my garden.

Under the moon....we were in paradise.
That garden, with all it's fruit and fragrance;
was built of love and tender emotions.

When you left.....

the fruit began to rot,
the trees to bend and break,
end was in sight and I couldn't leave my paradise.

It became a prison....

branches caged me in and punctured my heart,
it was almost too much and I longed for death to finally take me.
To cover me in her sweet cloak of sleep and let me hurt no more.

A mirage....

that's what you had to be,
striding up to me and offering your hand again.

Tears in your eyes that spoke words of regret.
Pain I suffered reflected in your eyes.

That was enough and I was undone.

Blooming in the garden....

laying in the sun, the smallest thing a joy.
Knowing you are back and I believe it's to stay.
Take my hand and share this apple, it offers no knowledge,
no answers to the universe and no keys to the kingdom.

It offers love, here....with me.

Slowly, your hand reaches out and plucks the apple from me,

and under the bright sunshine, we share love for all time.

No offense, but what's up with the "Two tarot card references" thing? It's weird.

I love how you described Death and her eternal slumber in this. It's so...soothing. (I'm a dark poet by nature. Sorry if it scares you, if it even does.)

There's like a juxtaposition thing going on here. It went from serene to dark, possibly deadly, and then back to serene. It's almost like you immersed yourself in a daydream (daymare ) of what could be the worst case scenario. It's great, but you don't need a period or some kind of break at the end of every sentence/line.

    Rock On Brother!
