julie fell off the side of a mountain the way some people
dive off the high board;
gracefully.
head.
first.
julie can’t move her arms but she
holds us together.
julie fell off the side of a snowy mountain
the way everyone seems to
fall out of our lives;
without warning,
quickly,
gone.
the way i appreciate the cramps in my feet,
the way i love my funny bone,
the way it feels
to hurt;
these are the things julie forgets first.
but not me.
not.
me
.
