We all seek that moment.
Not necessarily the moment itself,
But what it brings.
To stand outside of oneself,
pure ecstasy,
finds only few.
Some devote their life to a religion.
Some dismiss it as utopian madness.
Some hoard earth’s resources.
Some seek to know all.
Some drink.
Some shoot heroin.
Some fuck.
These methods give a taste of what is possible, but alas
The bliss is short lived, and the greed,
the sloth,
the lust,
the pride,
the gluttony,
the rage
and the envy prevail.
Death shortly follows.
All I hear from those worn from life’s travels,
“If I knew what I know now, what you know...”
And I remain puzzled.
So I dance,
And it is in that moment,
I know all is right,
And it is in that moment,
I learn to
Just be.

i really like this poem,
great work especially this part
These methods give a taste of what is possible, but alas
The bliss is short lived, and the greed,
the sloth,
the lust,
the pride,
the gluttony,
the rage
and the envy prevail.
Death shortly follows.
All I hear from those worn from life’s travels,
“If I knew what I know now, what you know...”
And I remain puzzled.
good luck in the contest
