there is butterfly love in the air
cookie cutting the clouds
& sweeping gold into my hair;
morning, morning,
not a minute too late.
blanched almond tambourines,
music glittering, bodies swaying,
& honey bread crumbs on my orchid quilt;
afternoon, afternoon,
not a minute too soon.
steel blue cityscape
flying outside checkered doors
life giving liquor inside hopeful harlequins;
tonight, today,
tomorrow, yesterday.
Please tell me what you think

not only do you have great poetry; you have the best backgrounds!

I enjoyed your usage of alliteration throughout this piece, Poet. A song that brought the initial attraction to me is one by Crosby, Stills and Nash called "Helplessly Hoping". The melody itself is infectious, and the words are quite inspiring, as well. I think you've captured much of the essence of their amazing song within this poem, although from a more contemporary stance. Well done.
