Break Me

You all stand around
As though this were your decision to make.
And then you judge and mock,
My love life is a mistake.
You jeer and taunt me,
Bully, beat and harass until there's so much pain.
And then when I snap,
You cast me out into the rain.
Not a soul here can save me,
As life would simply have it.
But ignorance is bliss,
And stupidity... how to combat it.
The lack of knowledge overwhelms,
And I smile deep inside,
Knowing that you could never take it,
The feelings of being alive.
I take solace in my one saving grace,
That you cannot rip me apart,
And all your trying and work
Is not enough to break my heart.

The meaning is what it is to you:

This is an amazing poem. The way it demonstrates how you are feeling pain, but will not be broken. Strength... Very good. You know I won't cast you away though. I love you Grrg.

    • You know, when I wrote this, I hadn't thought of that. I actually wrote it as a tribute so to speak of the homosexual community. But I hadn't seen it as an extension of myself until now. Thank you Bear. I love you too.
