bare feet

she once made ripples in the cosmos;
river kisses speak nothing of past grandeur.

before
she found herself most comfortable
ever changing,
molded of clay and possibilities.

this was before fire

comparing herself to the sun,
a spark took her pride and spent it
on a mortal self, prone to shattering

unused to being
delicate

she walks on water now.
