You're the brightest fixed star in my skies
The most beautiful person in my eyes.
You're the wind that blows away my fears
The rain that washes away my tears.
You're the air that lifts up the sky
The wing that makes me fly.
You're the sunrise amidst my gloom
The twilight that delivers me from doom.
You're the first dewdrop in my mornings
Ever sweet, ever glittering.
You're the symphony in my tight sleep
The arm of comfort when I weep.
You're the falling star that cedes my wish
The daddy I'll always love and miss.

Thanks for this wonderful tribute
If I'd had a developed vocabulary when I was young, this piece says a lot of the things I would have said back in those days when we thought our Dads were invincible. As we've grown and been forced to accept them as all too human, we yet know that the protection, comfort and security they provided were what allowed us to grow into aware, sentient, individual adults.
I'm not sure how much of this is a tribute to your Daddy, but I certainly accept most of it as a tribute to my Daddy as well. Thanks for writing this, and even more for sharing it.
GBU,
