My Hope

Hope remains when I am scared
When the scars of heartaches
Become too much
When subtle reminds
Become like stones
Pelted at my soul
When the blackest night
Seems to swallow me whole
Hope remains the only light
Helping me guide my way back home
When I have no more to change to spare
And the hours seem to crawl
When all I can do is stare
At the cracks embedded in the ceiling
Hope will always be with me
Reminding me there is more
And the waiting will be short lived
My religion is my faith
In my own ability to see
The strength that's from within
That hope is what I need
When the sky always seems gray
When Love has been lost
And trust damaged beyond repair
Hope will always be there
To show me in its own way
That love will flourish again
That happiness is not impossible
And I am so much more
Than what my experiences in life
Have shaped me to be

It is nice to see someone who can hold hope so high on a pedistal. Most poems (even the ones I write) are about losing hope, searching for hope. trying to hang on to hope. This is a nice change from all of that. Very uplifting and inspiring, I am very glad to have been able to read this. Thank you so much for sharing it!

Thank you for taking the time to read and comment and add applause, I appreciate it. I have definitely written some hopeless poetry myself but it doesn't always mean that I'm not going to fight to have it back.
