i remember the time we sat on my
bed and looked into each other's eyes
for what seemed like hours. i even
set the mood. there was that weird
light that has strands of that fibre optic
bullshit.

the blue rays shining all the way up
to the ceiling.

i had the lava lamp on. the little pink
bubbles oozing and floating up and down
the glass vase.

i should have know turning the lights
off
was a bad idea.

i remember telling you i wish you'd worn
a tie. then i could have pulled you closer
to me with it and kissed you because you
were so damn shy.

the beatles told you to close your eyes
and i'll kiss you and you looked at me
and said we'd better do what they say.

i know you're a good person and you just
can't find a way to make everything right.
but i will be ready to listen when you are
ready to talk.
