Growing Old

Don't laugh, growing old hurts.
It's my disbelief that is growing.
I never thought I would grow old.

It's not kind, this getting old
Like a red rimmed sore that hurts
Like a cancerous cyst growing.

My fear of death is growing
The final stage of getting old.
Even more than my body, my heart hurts.

It hurts to know I'm growing old.

I would appreciate suggestions in punctuation and line breaks.

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

I think this is a wonderful Tritina and it is written true to form. The message is loud and clear and I don't think you are old!

    Love,
