Dying Breed

I've traveled thousands of miles without lifting a muscle.
I've seen things that seemingly aren't there.
I know that you've been here.  Your presence clings to surroundings like the film upon dirty Tupperware containers that one cannot hope to remove.
I've felt the fingers of specters raise the small hairs on my skin.
I've felt the terror of a child murdered in back woods pour over my soul.
I've felt the menace of a weapon used in a quarrel.
I've felt the tension around me when something is wrong.
I've felt the soothing sensation of a person who naps contently in the sun's shielded glare,
'Neath the comforting willows that whisper like hair.
I've felt a friend's sorrow from miles away
As it tore them apart in an emotional fray.
I've seen many things that many people have not seen.
I've been many places by means of which that many people have not dreamed.
I've felt many things that many people still disbelieve.
I have done so...
Because I am part of a dying breed.

  • Oh Wow

Jesus Christ Love. This is absolutely amazing. By far the best you've written so far. It gave me goose bumps and made me sad for you, and happy for you, and proud to call you my friend.
    You're such a beautiful person.

I like it. In a sense, that is EXACTLY how I feel now which is kinda what scares me.
