What can I say
It may be too late
It may be a sin
But a sin I can taste
I couldn’t care less
I wanted to feel
As I take my last breath
It’s your heart I steal
In the blink of an eye
With the death of the Fall
This is one love down
If this was love at all
Don’t want to close my eyes
Stay with me
When I looked at your face
I started to cry
The birth of the Spring
Might revive you and I
Will you take my hand
Will you lead me away
Saying sweet things
That I couldn’t convey
Don’t want to close my eyes
Stay with me
I touched your soul
And you touched mine
When I feel your heart beat
It makes me alive
What chance do we have
That this love will last
In that blink of the eye
It all went too fast
Don’t want to close my eyes
Stay with me
Author notes
It's basically about things ending just as fast as they began

There is infatuation, and then there is love. One doesn't have much to do with the other, although we sometimes try to convince ourselves that something is more than it really is. Infatuation is when you want what you want - love is when you want what's best for the other person, even if it means you may not be the one to provide it for them. Ah, but these things take a lifetime to learn, it seems. Well written, Poet. I hope your dream comes true someday.
