Spilled

This joy that is inside me –
Where do I put it?
People don’t usually say
"My, you look joyful today?"
Or, "thanks, I need some joy
To mitigate my down."

That hollow sound, of awkward
Waiting – for another to
Bounce the tennis ball of conversation
Back
Could be filled up with joy to overflowing
In streamers of light, or
Not

I’ve planted a joy
A toy
A noise
Hot
Here.

I love this! I love the feeling behind it and the imagery........streamers of light or not...hollow sound of awkward, etc. I guess I relate to a lot of what you write (surprise!).
Do your fingers refuse to smoothly cooperate at times? Mine do!

thank you for the 5 star comment

mgmc, as you know, there was more than irony in the words, "people, don't usually say - My, you look joyful today" - because often I have my Parkinson's Disease face on (which shows no emotion because my muscles don't respond well)
But my spirit won't let this disease steal my joy! and i can give it to anyone I want! - so there! lol here is some for you! Oh, about my fingers smoothly cooperating? sometimes, i am forced to type with a curled up hand using just my index finger one letter at a time. Often, I can't even do that. So, I really appreciate it when my medicine is working good and I can type fairly fast and easily. - thanks for the comment!
