Hopeful

I woke up this morning
              *I can’t explain it*
                            I don’t know how
                                                        or
                                                why

but for some reason
completely undefined...

I feel hopeful.



The bills are still here
        overshadowing our lives

Too much month
        and not enough money

but I just can’t shake it
this smile in my heart...!

I feel hopeful.



Swirling my coffee
around in my cup
tasting mocha goodness
      *it’s the little things*

While outside my window
        a sleepy sunrise
            to welcome my day

and I just can’t describe it
        any more than to say

I feel hopeful.



I woke up this morning

breathed in and breathed out...

            my child in her bed

            my husband kissed my lips softly


  sure, nothing’s perfect
- that’s what life’s about -

but...

still blessings abound

and

somehow
some way
today


I just feel

                hopeful.
