The time came
When the maiden asked him:
Is it truly love
Or do you fancy yourself this way
Does your heart beat
Does your being cry out
Would you give everything
Just for her
Could you spend forever
Doing anything at all
Just with her
Do you love her so much
And in answer
He said to the comely maid:
Just for her
I wake up every morning
My heart beats
My mouth breathes
Just with her
I show my fears and dreams
A part of me not seen
I love her so
But the question is this
Does her heart call out for me
Then silently with only warning in eye
He touched her cheek as only lovers do
And they shared true love's first kiss
After which into the silence she spoke:
Her heart is yours to keep
Now and forever
