Dam

I wore this smile all day,
Tacking it back on when it slipped.
I wore this fake smile all day.
Just for you.
The swell of feelings
Mistakes
Misinterpretations.
They were gone,
Hidden behind a dam.
Evaporated in the glare from the sun.
That disappeared with my smile.
All the nocturnal tears welled up as the dam leaked,
cracked,
broke.
But I wore this smile all day.
Just for you.

Does this need more imagery?

I commend you on this write. It was great. I can definitely relate to the fake smile. This poem is rather sad but has a touch of beauty and passion to it being that you state "I wore this smile all day....Just for you!" I enjoyed and love the emotions that go along with the piece! You seem to have a knack for writing and this one is good!
    Sincerely,
    Sarah
