Fuckin Fairytales

He came
He spoke
He pretended
He left

How is
THAT
For a
Fuckin fairytale?

Pretty damn
Perfect,
Right?

That
Is my own
Personal fairytale

The thing
I wished for
When I was
Just a little girl.

But,
Wait.

One thing
Not said
Was that my ‘Prince’
Would break
My heart.

That’s the final straw,
The final needle,
The final hope.

That’s the last time
This little girl
Believes in her
Fuckin Fairytales.

    It hurts so good...

I loved this frank masterpiece. Some people say that profanity makes a poem ugly, well in this case it makes this poem beautiful! The emotions so raw and powerful are what got me, what actually pulled me in. The feeling of helplessness and loss at the beginning made me think "Lets go kick this jerks ass".... But then through the poem the character gets stronger more independent and bad ass which made me think "Never mind she can do by herself!" I loved the last stanza
    "That’s the last time
    This little girl
    Believes in her
Fuckin Fairytales." It was all in-your-face-I-Don't-Care-Screw-It. -lol- This poem is going to have to be made into one of my faves...If it can be I haven't figured this site all the way out yet!

  • funny how fairy tales change over time, strong poem that kind of sits with you there. after all fairytales are just that, tales, keep it flowing
