Why?

Why are the lost never found?
Why do the dead never live again?
Why do smiles turn to frowns?
Why do people laugh at clowns?
Why is the world always in ruins?
Why is the lost never found?
Why do we suffer for true happiness and light?
Why do we care if what we do is right?
Why do we choose to refuse the good?
Why do people fall and crumble?
Why do people cry?
Why do people feel pain?
Why do our hearts beat when our souls are stained?
Why do the rich prosper and the poor scavenge?
Why do people live, when most of us want to die?
Why do we die, when we are born to live?
"Why" is the question with hidden replies

Questions left unanswered.

Author notes

Why is always the simple little question running through our minds, no matter where we are, what we are doing, we always question "why?" at some point in our lives or at some point everyday. Whether it be a small minor thing or a decision that may change your life. We question ourselves, this world, each other all of the time. why?, no one really knows why. These are some questions i ponder all of the time.

Wonderfully well written and the last sentence really ties it all together.

  • Oh yes, always the question, "but why..." Loved the why you wrote this sis...

    My favorite line:
'Why do our hearts beat when our souls are stained'

    Everything was perfect really...

Wow. It really puts life into perspective, and lets the reader bring to mind some of life's most difficult questions.
"Why do people live, when most of us want to die?
Why do we die, when we are born to live?"
I really enjoyed the contrast in these lines, and it ended the poem really well.
Overall, this poem is really really good

there is hope for the dead to walk the earth
john 5:19,20 Jesus says to us...."Do not marvel at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his(Jesus) voice and come out....

this is a promis from Jesus himself. even though we long to see our dead loved ones right now, we must be patient and ralise that God knows the right time to do this...please feel free to chat with me sometime about spiritual things if you feel inclined, i study the Bible and love to discuss the jewels hidden within it. some of the teachings of the Bible have been obscured by men seeking their own advantages throughout history. but if you search for wisdom itself, you will find it. thanx for the poem, you got m thinking again.

    • Thank you for your insight i know all of these things really. I'm a catholic and have been taught very well through scripture i'm glad someone else thinks and understands what i understand and believe. Its nice to know. I'm glad you liked my poem .
