'Neath summer skies sway softest hue
along a path well worn,
you'll hear that hint of childhood play
where memories were born.
The giggles and the chasing
in the early morning breeze,
protection sought in shadowed scenes
as day's flush begins to seize.
The afternoon draws heated scents
to rest in cooling shade,
a pleasant silence lingers here,
cicadas serenade.
This day will soon draw to a close
and life will move with haste,
that lonely path continues on
noisy vigour is replaced.

I like the way you rhymed this as it flowed so beautiful and gave a feeling of nostalgia that went right back to my childhood. I love the picture because you can almost see the scenes you mentioned in your words and it would appeal to anyone who still cares to remember way back when....I wish you the very best in the contest.
