Autumn/Winter

The yellow and browns on an autumnal day
the green of the pine in the wind does sway

The crying and the whistle of the Sika in rut
The rusty red colour of the shepherds tin hut

The reedbeds rustling and dancing in the wind
the wires on the phone lines are beginning to sing

Hirundines flocked and now all gone
another bleak winter has now just begun

Flying yellow leaves are all floating around
looking for room to settle on the wet ground

Another year over another year gone by
winter is here as my mind starts to sigh

As I wait now and wonder for the advent of spring
Cant wait for summer as our birds to start to sing
