Love brings out the best in you
The hidden beautiful sights
Makes your own goodness
Something fresh and new
Love gives what it wants
Respect, trust and loyalty
It chooses not what it sees
But whether it matters
Love learns to let go
It does not grow resentment
Or hold on to past hurts
Because that dams the flow
Love is not of the mind
It belongs strictly to the heart
So don't look to the mind
To know when love starts
Love is not dysfunctional
It is not twisted into control
Or come wrapped in a fist
That is fear, which kills love

A lovely ode to love !

Beautiful, this part was my favorite!
Love is not of the mind
It belongs strictly to the heart
So don't look to the mind
To know when love starts
GREAT POEM!

Beautifully said! I especially loved:
"Love gives what it wants
Respect, trust and loyalty
It chooses not what it sees
But whether it matters"
Well done and thank you for your entry.
