charcoal
i sketch in backward strokes-
armageddon
to the Birth, heavy swell
of an ancient belly
and the faceless mother.
i dream the same.
tossing, turning
on fresh linen sheets
i sometimes
open my mouth to scream.
that's when the spiders
crawl out
and storm the world.
Author notes
a bit of a dream i had
*sigh*

I am not a fan of
but when I see them in the day I allow them to live, at night I crush them with whatever pulverize I can grasp. Dreams are hard to interpret but this seems to me as if you have you have far too many irons in the fire and things must be sorted out to make sense. Your unleashing these six legged creatures out into the world shows control because they could have made nests in your mouth, and choked you to an untimely end. A very introspective work of poetry here poet. Although dark and haunting, you have written with great fervor.
Drink a cup of warm milk before sleeping. If you happen to be lactose intolerant, like me…drink a cup of herbal tea, and see how peaceful your dreams transpire themselves into more tolerable sessions.
Much Love ♥

Ooh!
I love that last bit about the spiders, that's just horror at it's finest. I'd love to read this dream in more detail, that's interesting. As scary as it might' have been, it made for a fascinating poem!

Wow!! Imagery, metaphor, and ordered chaos, all in so few lines. Wow... i will have to come back and re-read this piece.

i really like this.. have a thought on the ending
wonder if you could condense it just a bit-..
and when i open my mouth to scream
spiders crawl out and storm the world
just a thought...
love the images-- love the ancient belly

yikes... what a scary dream. Though, I have to admit, I'm glad someone else has weird, disturbing dreams like this. I had gorillas in mine last night, a couple baboons, simply running around completely out of context with the rest of the dream, lol.
I like how you expressed this one though, I can't think of anything to change.

I hate spiders, but love your poetry.
