in her mirror

She looks into the deep void of the mirror,
Seeing the shattered appearance of an known girl,
Lost, scared and hidden to the world.

She squints,
trying to peer deeper into the mirror
for a known fragment,
but nothing to be found.

Shaped by the society in which she lived,
twisted into something hideous.
This creature once a loving and caring person,
changed by the urge to be
something more, something better.

Over the years she turned into a "thing",
a puppet dancing on the strings of the
pressures brought on by this world.

As the night creeps over her she is left to the darkness,
sobbing she falls to her knees,
realizing she has lost herself forever.

would you be brutaly honest?
