pain erupts from every part of me
their anger sparks
i don't want to make it worse
i ignore their remarks
they ask me a question
they kick at my feet
"why are you not the same?"
they snarl and repeat.
"why do you speak funny to your mum?"
i duck my head as he swings a punch
"why is your hair completely black?"
they hold up, in disgust, my lunch
i try to hold back the tears
but out they flow
and everything around me
starts to become very slow.
Author notes
this is not from a personal encounter, though i have had very similar happen to me.
