Halloween Night

The moon is bright on Halloween night
With it's light washing over the ground
All around, children running, children cheering
Bathed in the moon's brilliant light.

Wolves howling in the distance
Baying to the moon
Vampires rise from their coffins
And mummies, from their tombs.

Candy flowing from each house
And children stop to stare
At black cat statues in front yards
As orange pumpkins glare

Then all is calm on Halloween night
As all the kids run off to bed
The moon fades away to make room
For the dawn's early light.
