As I sit and ponder
On this marvelous moon lit night
The memorizes of the past
Start to come to mind
Do you remember when we first met?
I doubt that you do
But I can’t seem to forget that wonderful day.
It was the first day of spring
And it was raining terribly hard
You were just there under a tree
Trying to get away from the downpour.
From the moment I saw you
I felt something deep within my heart
I felt that my life was going to change for the better
But I asked myself
Is this going to last?
On that day
You captured my heart
With just a glance
Those beautiful green eyes
They are the most wonderful
I have seen and most likely
Will ever see
Do you remember what happened after that?
I doubt that you do
We started to met everyday at that tree
All the laughs we laughed
And all the fun things we did
It seemed like this happiness
Was never going to fade.
It seemed like every day we were falling
In love with each other but
As it is said “love is filled with pain”
As the spring passed and summer was now upon us
Things started to change between us
We seemed to be growing apart
But I never expected to find out what I did
You were cheating on me from the start
You were married
And you were just using me
As a spring fling
While your husband was away…..
I will never love again
For this pain is just too great
I say
“Why love again if all that love brings me is more pain”
