1. Attitude of gratitude
Humble benedictions, sincere gratitude
All they merge all they melt
For they are far too less
In attitude or in servitude.
Drops of passion-dispassion all they are,
Of sweet devotion and tender care.
Oh lord that’s what you render
Yet each moment we wander and ponder.
Liquid emotions, torrid affairs,
All but drop-by-drop of our tears
In the unerrant flow amidst the agony of the soul
Don’t we see who ultimately bears.
2. Wisdom sharp-as-the-sword
Word-by-word, line-by-line
All of them lead nowhere
But intellect to make us fool
Leaving between the lines of
Where-we-not and where-we-are.
All fall flat, all seem straight
Till oh lord, we don’t see you in us
Line-by-line word-by-word there is this chorus.
Following the escapeless-route
Forever we merge eternally into thy self
And feebly, there we align
without any screams for help.
3. When the going gets tough
The ocean so deep of ecstasy and anguish,
We all had wished once or the other,
For good to drop it all and relinquish.
Don’t we see us in those drops?
Cathartic and spontaneous
Intense intentions to let those tears drop
Those emotionally placid, cool and soothing,
Like the drops of dews,
stealing slowly away from us,
Our selfish self and all its hues.

I like the imagery you used here, especially the ocean. It gave me a sense of immensity that simply is a given for anyone who has stood at the edge of an ocean and felt the unfathomableness of it. The three numbered lines are interesting to bring each following stanza into a certain 'light' of thought, a different style than I am used to but I liked it very much. Overall I felt this as a bit of a dark write in tone, but personally I like the shadows our tears cast, so it felt right to me. Glad it won a silver. Congratulations. Peace, Rhonda

Thank you so much for appreciating this work...it really is painful these days for me to mention as "my work"..
I am all lost and my sincere appreciations to you to be the reason at least once in a while in motivating us....
All love and all blessing!!!
