I must admit that on days like these,
In the crisp autumn wind,
when lovers huddle together for warmth,
and share the things of fall:
Warm apple cider,
a bounty of rainbows in the trees,
love and romance,
happiness and peace;
That I feel lonely.
That cold wind that hurls them close,
blows right through me,
carrying my words,
my thoughts and dreams,
off and away,
never to be seen.
I feel lonely.
This time was once mine too,
I felt the warmth they know,
I too relished in its glow.
but no longer.
