A Mysterious Evening

The merry-go-round is on the center stage,

dazzling, lively with dramatic performance;

and the stationary performers galloping on roll,

with the spirited riders, who are not discernible.

The spectators have gathered around,

the barren trees, chairs and benches full;

of concealed gazes and murmurs of appreciation,

amid the shadows of darkness that is due.

The surrounds are thick with imperceptible presence,

the still environment shudders with swift anticipation;

of the applause rising to deafening crescendo,

splitting the peace into a dreadful awakening.
