Jehanne II

a flame-coloured sunrise at Rouen
frames her ultimate condemnation

the fire veil reaches out
to the lily
firmly holding on to a small wooden cross

her hope placed in eternity
waiting beyond this world

    Delightful.

I have never read a poem that mentioned Rouen and I ADORE the fact that this does. Thanks so much for entering this into my contest. I wish you the best of luck!

Now do a piece with the places Prague and Reims somewhere in them! (I'm only kidding....)

As the flames licked at her small frame, she looked up into Heaven at the angels that had assembled to comfort her, and smiled. A wonderful poem, good Anne.
