My suggestion for this form was chosen because it uses rhyme and a set syllabic count to construct a poem.
Retro- a fashion reminiscent of the past
Americana: any artifact (such art) that is distinctive of America
Verse: a piece of poetry

I went to the contest but it was too long for my short attention span, but I'm assuming she wants you to name the style. I have a couple ideas for names,...
Seems like a fun contest. I admit to liking contests more, the less they actually have to do with writing.

hmmmmmmmmm..... you know... that's a thought as well... Especially when you consider the concept that retro is also usually something that was in fashion at one time, the went out of fashion, and is now returning... something that could definately be said for the formed poem. definately an interesting idea! I like it.

Hmm...dis one gonna take me lotsa time me friend...! Retro's a very interesting word, I always think about rockets you know! How about retro-rock...60's, 70's...umm would that work?
Ok how about this: Retroflexion...'the act of turning the tip of the tongue upwards and backwards in the articulation of a vowel or a consonant' I like the sound of that one rolls offa the tongue very nicely!
Sorry Joy, me being silly as usual...J
