Open The Gates O God

Missing image

O Lord how long will you keep your mercy from me

My strength fails within me

When I look for comforters there is none

I wait all day long when will you open your gates to me

I have given no rest to my eyes

I am as one who goes down into the pit

I am as the owl the pelican of the wilderness

When will you look upon my distress

I look for Thee in the night watche's

But Lord you are far off from me

I wait all day long my tears are my bread

When will you rescue me from the foe

When will you open the gate for me

Lord my eyes pour out like water

My tears are my meat do not forsake me O God

You are my right hand my Salvation

Draw near o Lord and hear from your temple

Hear the cries of those who put their trust in you

When I am afraid I will say unto my soul

Whom have I to fear If the Lord be on my side

Who can be against me.O Lord your word is good

Therefore I will put my trust in Thee.

For many put there trust in Kings

But I will put my trust in the God of my Salvation

My fortress and Strong hold my deliverer

He will hear me who takes notice of His prisoners.

I will delight in His Salvation He is my God.

The strength and bread of my soul

My life My God who lives forever

Blessed be the name of our God

He is worthy to be praised

Honor and glory belong to Him

Open the gates o king and I will go through

With those that fear thee o lord

With those that trust in the name of our God

Open the gates O God, Open the gates, and I will go through

Author notes

I wrote this as the words poured out like honey they are different passages from the book of psalms. It is a cry for God when he seems far off from us.

The book of psalms was written by David He also was a poet just as we are. He had a heart after God.David went though many trials and troubles just as we experience them also, and God always heard him even when David had sinned God had great mercy on Him . What a loving compassionate God we have. We can experience Gods great love for humanity through His Son Jesus He is the way truth and life He is the hope of our Salvation.

Inspiring beyond words once again dear sis in Christ, all should be blessed by what you share from your heart and in truth, this definately takes our trials to embrace and hold onto that God is there, will be there always, today, tomorrow and forever...amen. Excellent. Blessings.

    Fantastic!

Marvelous work friend. May God look favorably on you and open the gates. While reading this it certainly reminded me of the Psalms, but I was not sure if you were quoting different passages or writing something similar. You may want to capitalize the o's in the final stanza, that way it fits properly with the previous ones.
