Where is the World?

Missing image

Reflections on the water
Cause me to pause in awe
At that amazing sight
I have never seen before.

That can't be our planet
Peeping o'er those trees
For I am here at home
And I'm not fancy free.

It must be that damn Venus
Out on the  town again,
I wasn't born the last time
She sent experts round the bend.

Our universe is fairly stable,
Astronomy people  often say,
But I wonder what they'd think
If they saw this sight today.

Good response to the prompt, a "fancy free" Venus riots the imagination.
Thanks for the ride with this very imaginative write.
    Regards.

I wonder does the Venus up there have any relations down here, now or in the past. let the mind wander. Thanks for your visit and comments. Nice to see you back.

You make me want to rush out and set up my scope and start star gazing again, Bob. I love your poem here. it resonates with the wonder you have placed in every word, and boy, was the rhythm great. What a planet to have looking over your shoulder while you gaze into that cool crystal water. I love that verse.....

    That can't be our planet
    Peeping o'er those trees

    And I'm not fancy free.

This was really really good and allowed me images you wouldn't believe. Another perfect write from you and I wish the very best to you in the contest.

We are just a hop-skip and a jump from a massive collection of big telescopes manned by some of the best astronomers in the world. We also have no light pollution from cities and towns, so we have the most wonderful night skies. Nothing like the picture prompt though. That is a very skillful piece of work. Many thanks once again for calling in and leaving your thoughts. Hope your back stays well.

Thanks for your visit and comments, always appreciated. I am always curious about the sky. We are away from towns and cities and the sky is often so clear yo could almost pick your own star from the sky and put it in a glass.

So many questions with so few answers it's a wonder we all don't continually write about the great heavens above us...A good write Bob and good luck in the comp...Dan

The night sky is always full of mysteries. So it should be. It would be a terrible day for us all if our paltry scientific people found all the answers. Let there be mystery for us to dream about. Many thanks Dan, for your comments and thoughts.

Many thanks Mal. It's nice to see you about. I have been editing and proof reading for a week or so and was ever so glad to take a bit of time away from it all.
