Just for today I will not acknowledge pain,
but instead will rejoice in my rising above it.
My fears I give to God, he will hold them for me.
Just for today I will stand up for what I believe in,
today and all the todays that are to become my life.
I will remember that I have virtue and shall live
by its purity and decisiveness, never faltering.
Today I will pull my shoulders straight and
make the world a better place by my actions.
Just for today the looming horror of my days
will be a path I trod cheerfully and with humor,
I will welcome their refining fire and rejoice.
Just for today I will hold myself as a hero,
shout out my faith and grace in God. . .
I will kneel in submission to a higher power -
Just for today.

I love it when I come across a unique piece that holds deep meaning, this is very moving, inspirational and such a personal write... You've expressed your feelings with positivity and dignity, I truly admire your strength and strong faith in God...keeping your spirits up like this will help you in all your todays to come...As Dennis has said below, we all tend to lose sight of the blessings we have, I know I do and often need to be reminded, life is so very precious but the downside is, it's often filled with pain.

This is a wonderful positive and optimistic write that blessed my spirit as I read it. What a better place this world would be if more peolple thought and acted this way.
We bear burdens in this life and often lose sight of the blessings we also have and need to be grateful for. We are not alone in this life but have a Friend that wants the best for us now and in the life hereafter. He lightens our loads and gives us hope and joy.
