We knew that smell of chocolate
wafting past our hiding place.
Some memories are forever,
ones time cannot erase.
We licked our lips. . .
he licked his and I licked mine.
We could taste the crumbs
so sweet, chocolaty and fine.
Chester started to bay real loud
in that hungry desperate voice.
I pulled his fedora over his snout,
in order not to be seen, I had no choice.
Little Chrissy cupcake maker
is of the genus called feline. . .
cat or not we wanted cupcakes,
we knew they were divine!
Alas, some real mad pit bulls
flew past us with great speed.
They growled and threatened Chrissy,
so we did the only useful deed.
Me and Chester flew out to them
in our special tan Bounty Hunter coats.
Those pit bulls fell down laughing
as we loaded cupcakes in our totes.
Man may live by bread alone,
But us Bounty Hunter canine kinds
will do anything when we have
chocolate cupcakes on our minds.

I hope they know chocolate will kill a dog

This is a cute take on the pick. Thanks for entering it -
Cute
Yes they will do anything to snatch a treat. My little pomeranian would run off the pit bulls. He just loves treats. Although I keep chocolate away from them. This is really an enjoyable read. Thanks for posting such a cute piece. -
Loved it, made me laugh. Nice change, most of the poetry written today is sad and dark. Nice change, thanks
