I Will Avenge You

It makes me sick
to know the disgusting things he's done.
With a hint of incest in his breath,
the child cannot force herself to move.
The one person she was supposed to trust,
yet she is too young to know he's done her wrong.
He tells her not to speak of this to anyone-
mommy must not know.
What has he done,
oh what has he done?
Does he know he destroyed his daughters life?
Give me a hug and kiss goodnight my dear,
you know I love you, right?
It's okay when you touch me daddy,
she says with tears streaming down her cheeks.
She will never be the same.
Innocence stolen at such a young age.
It wasn't fair to her,
she didn't have a choice.
She will never view men in the same way again.
Her heart was shattered
and the only person that can fix it,
is the one who didn't protect her in the first place.
Wouldn't have been convenient
to save her before it ever happened?
What happened to helping the helpless?
As she reaches out her hands to try and stop him
from wrapping his belt around her neck.
She slowly,
softly,
sweetly dies.
With all her innocence
sincerely abused.
She can't ever forgive her daddy now.
But he will get away with this hanus crime.
In due time, the Lord says,
I will deal with him.
Bur right now, my sweet daughter
I'll hold you in my arms
and love you in a good clean way-
the way a father is supposed
to love his daughter.
Your father of flesh and bones
will pay for the evil things he put you through.
My daughter,
I WILL avenge you.

    A beautiful poem. The meaning is strong and the story displayed very well.

    If I may make a suggestion, I think it would be a bit more powerful if it was seperated into stanzas. This is just my opinion though and you may not agree with it, but better to say so just in case you do agree =D

    But apart from that this was a very touching poem. The ideas you placed behind it were strong and the emotions very strong.

    A great write.
