Mon beau ange...
Why, why do you insist
upon haunting me so,
slinking through the shadows
hidden behind me,
chanting your obsceneties
in careful whispered words.
Along each chosen path,
I can feel you there; always,
through each taloned caress
trailed along marble skin,
testing the boundaries of
this fragile sanity of mine
and the shell in which
this feeble soul resides.
Is this ribbed cage
as empty as you hoped,
leaving you room to
get beneathe my skin
and feed this infection
growing through my pores?
The poisonous emotion
burning in my veins,
bubbling underneathe
this same old facade,
oozing, dribbling through
the fissures in an aging mask.
Are you happy with
what has become of me...
Mon beau diable?

I like what you have done with this prompt...it is one of my favorite quotes...these lines really stood out to me...
I can feel you there; always,
through each taloned caress
trailed along marble skin,
I smile a bit when I visualize this
