splashed in the lambent glow of the astral flames on heaven's alter,
i stand aghast before the wondrous sight of our iridescent universe--
paralyzed with consternation after realizing my profound detachment.
there is no one waiting to usher my callow soul into the hereafter;
no cherubs or seraphs floating in this stellar oblivion. there is only me—
suspended in the universes resplendent web of time and space.
without time, movement is impossible; conscious linear thought
contradicts all logic and reason. my existence is an infinite paradox.
