.
Narwhal, I lament you;
Real and beautiful creature
Brutally slain by the mythical, ritzy unicorn
With its princess stories
And stolen horn,
Its figurines stacked next to Baby Born™
In the toy stores which blind children
To the breathtaking beauty
Of natural, factual purity.
Narwhal, though you swim free
In seas of fact and secrecy
Hunted still to near-extinction
For your precious tooth of such distinction,
Murdered still without remorse
To prove the existence of a pretty horse
With an airy-fairy derivation
While children wild with imagination
Still do not know that you exist.
Narwhal, do not let them win,
Skewer the horse and raise your chin
With pride, for you are strong and true,
That unicorn’s got nothing on you.
While you still thrive in arctic seas,
You can dispell the mysteries.
Your roots are grounded deep in fact,
This must give you some impact?
Go forth, increase and multiply,
Lets hope that flashy horse can fly!
