Days quietly extend a cooler dance with the leaves of fall,
one last hurrah of color, a performance given all.
Summer curtsies to applause, bequeathes us no encore
but intermittant skies of blue left at October's door.
I do not think to breathe more slowly at tasks left to do,
but find I barely breathe at all, until I think of you,
who paints wings exquisitely, butterflies in my mind,
the flit and brush of a gentle soul only God designed.
Infinite ripple of your heart, like rings within a pond,
extend and reach, expand and hold, a vibrance far beyond
the challenges that unfold tenaciously before us every day
and I can't help but watch in awe the gratitude you display.
So a symphony of tenderness lights my heart with smiles
and lingers in the now of me, sweet thoughts across the miles,
of just how blessed I truly am to have been touched by you,
and give you safely to God's arms, wholely, timeless, new.
For what is now is omnipresent within His sacred realm,
calming waves of senseless pain ~ He's ever at the helm.
There I'll keep my thought of you, His peace bestowed thereof,
and know the wings that hold you are infinite with Love.

Thank you, Joe. God does manifest the most beautiful art!
In his people, too. Just think of the diversity and wonder.

Very well done. Nicely written and rhymed and filled with evocative images of the distance that often separates two kindred souls.
Happy trails.

Yes, kindred souls. How quickly what stimulates one's thought will also spark in the another's if they relate, and fed with kindness, the light grows. Someone recently pointed out to me that as fast as the speed of light is, thought is faster. I looked at my life and thought, What a slow learner I am! You can put your thought anywhere instantly.
Thank you.

s to you, Angel! The winter months will soon be upon us, and I truly am not ready for the gray misty mornings that seem to hug the ground already. Love always helps to put sunshine where it belongs! And a little sun makes all the difference.

I have not so often seen a rhyme spill from your tender pen, Poet, so this is a special treat for my eyes. I am sure that certain "earth angel" will be quite pleased, as well. Good luck in the contest, Sweetie.

Idyll and Paean combined a song to season and faith, charmed by words of gentle grace, you delight with metaphors of season's change as you make God's wisdom coherent in the human domain. Wonderful.
Love,
Tom B.
